Despe
The project
Despe is a family-run business with extensive experience in demolition, engineering consultancy, decommissioning and site remediation.
To mark the 50th anniversary, we designed and developed the company’s new digital ecosystem: three interconnected websites that reflect the company’s different facets, namely Despe, Self Climbing Kokoon and Top Down Way.
A unique experience, available in five languages, which recounts the company’s 50 years in business and its capacity for innovation.
The challenge
Despe has built its reputation on technical expertise, an innovative approach and the ability to manage complex projects. To mark its 50th anniversary, it needed to revamp its online presence and turned to us for the second time.
The challenge was to translate the identity and complexity of Despe’s services into an intuitive, well-structured and distinctive digital experience.
The ecosystem was intended to reflect values such as authority, innovation and reliability, and to support the company’s international growth.
Our process
We began by reorganising the content to define a new information architecture. On this basis, we built a headless, modular and scalable ecosystem. Development was results-oriented and based on continuous iterations: we progressively integrated new pages and features in line with navigation flows and communication requirements.
We analysed the existing website and incorporated the client’s feedback to define a new information architecture. The result is a unified navigation system that links the three websites and maintains a consistent design across all touchpoints. We then translated the company’s identity into the language of animation: each transition follows a downward movement that evokes the ‘Top Down Way’ method, which lies at the heart of Despe’s controlled demolition operations.
Content management is handled by Sanity, using a shared multi-site setup: a single interface for managing all three sites in a flexible, modular and customisable way. Each site resides within a single repository that integrates the front-end and CMS into a single development environment. This ensures consistency across projects and rapid deployment.
For the front-end, we have chosen Next.js, which combines the performance of a static website with real-time content updates via Sanity’s Live Content APIs. The content is always up to date without compromising speed. The system supports five languages (Italian, English, Spanish, French and Chinese), with automatic routing and fully localised content management.

Our approach
This was Despe’s second project with us. We built on what was already in place: the previous website and the client’s feedback formed the basis for redefining the content structure.
We chose not to plan everything in advance. Pages and features were added in iterations, as navigation flows and communication needs became apparent.
The challenge was to bring three different entities together. We approached the project as a single system, rather than as three separate sites.
