Ufficio Piano
The project
Ufficio Piano is the web platform we have designed and developed with the aim of managing social vouchers for residents of the municipalities of Lentini, Carlentini and Francofonte.
The tool has a clear purpose: to connect public bodies, co-operatives and local authorities within a single digital system, managing the entire lifecycle of vouchers, from their creation through to the provision of services and real-time monitoring.
Every activity is traceable and verifiable, which enhances transparency and the quality of the service provided to the public.
The challenge
The administration of social vouchers was fragmented amongst organisations, co-operatives and local authorities.
This slowed down the delivery of services and made it difficult to ensure transparency and traceability of operations.
What was needed was a single, digital system capable of connecting all the organisations involved and reducing delays, errors and operational complexity.
Our process
To ensure a robust, accessible and scalable product over time, we followed a multi-stage design and development process. We validated the structure and user experience using wireframes and prototypes, then built a design system and finally developed a modular architecture ready to evolve.
We created wireframes and prototypes to validate the information architecture and user experience. On this basis, we have developed a coherent and accessible design system, based on reusable components, which ensures a consistent and scalable experience over time. The platform supports each user throughout their activities: from defining projects to entering personal details, right through to reporting by the co-operatives.
We have developed a modular API system that centralises operational workflows between organisations, co-operatives and public authorities. The architecture ensures that every operation is traceable and verifiable, and is designed to support future developments and the integration of new features over time.
On the front-end, we developed the platform using React, Next.js and Tailwind to ensure high performance and scalability. The interface, based on components from the design system, allows users to monitor the status of vouchers and services provided in real time.

Our approach
The project began as a process involving a number of stakeholders: organisations, co-operatives and local authorities.
Before starting the design process, we mapped out each person’s role in the management of the vouchers, to understand how to ensure effective communication between organisations with different timings and responsibilities.
We organised the work in phases. Using wireframes and prototypes, we validated the structure and user experience before moving on to development. This enabled us to start writing the code with a foundation that had already been tested.
From a technical perspective, we have opted for a modular architecture, designed specifically for the public sector: it is reliable over the long term and capable of incorporating new features without the need for a redesign.
